Jon Howard graduated from the University of Wisconsin—Madison, receiving degrees in English (American Literature) and Journalism (Newswriting/Editorial). He attended the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, receiving a Juris Doctorate with an emphasis in Constitutional Studies. He also served as Managing Editor of the University of Colorado Law Review and as Senior Law Clerk to the chief judge in the District of Colorado.
Scholarly and trade publishing has been a primary focus since 1993, including in-house editorial (editorial staff management, systems training, project editing, copyediting), freelance (copyediting, copywriting, instructional training, consulting, project management, ghostwriting), and education & training (corporate instructional training and as guest instructor, Denver Publishing Institute, University of Denver).
Skills include writing & research, copyediting for comprehension, and editorial decisionmaking; electronic document and file management; and staff training.
Subject-matter specializations include military history, especially air warfare, US studies, government, and constitutional law.
